In a result sure to further fuel the growing perception of Slumdog Millionaire as the presumptive Oscar front-runner, Danny Boyle took home the Feature Film Award from the Directors Guild of America tonight at a ceremony in Los Angeles. The DGA Awards historically have been reliable predictors of the Oscar voting: All but six DGA winners since 1948 have gone on to win the Academy Award for Best Director, and all but 13 films directed by the DGA winner have gone on to win Best Picture.
