Intel and AMD to power PS4, Xbox 720, and WiiII?

A little creative thinking over at the Inquirer has led them to suggest that Nvidia may get left out in the cold come the new generation of gaming consoles. Intel and AMD are set to split the spoils between them, leaving Nvidia (in its glory and its ego) to play with the PC market, which, as we are constantly being reminded, is dying.

It seems that there’s some bad blood between Sony and Nvidia, and some insiders have said that the GPU contract has gone over to Intel. Kind of puts the lid back on Nvidia’s can of whoop-ass. Similarly, Microsoft may be switching to AMD GPUs for grudge-related reasons. The Wii2, or WII, or Wiii, or Twii, will likely be sporting AMD hardware because ATI has been Nintendo’s partner for a while.

Add into this the fact that AMD is probably making rock-bottom bids right about now due to the fact that if they don’t make some money they’re going to be counting their stock’s value in pennies — on their hands. I’d certainly like to see a comeback like this.

Sleepachu kawaii overload

Ah, late Winter — that time when a young trainer’s fancy turns to a sleeping shock-mouse. Believe it or not, that’s actually the proverb in Japan, and is the mythical inspiration for theSleeping Pikachu fest being held at Pokémon centers all over Nippon.

Essentially it’s just a sale on all their goods featuring a sleeping Pikachu. And there are plenty of goods, believe me. Feel free to catch ‘em all! (You will be expected to pay for ‘em all as well)

Akshay Kumar launches Ritu Beri kids collection

Dressed as junior versions of a princess, a diva and as little sardars doing the “Singh is King” signature routine, 70 children scorched the ramp Sunday evening for Ritu Beri's kids collection launched by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar.

Named 'Baby Beri', the collection is Beri's line of occasion wear for kids segregated in three sub-divisions - Beri Princess, Rock Star Babes and Bollywood Divas.

“Designing kids' clothing is a playful and joyful experience. The endeavour is to showcase designs that are stylish, trendy and comfortable all at the same time. The idea is to bring out the youthfulness and cheerfulness of kids,” Beri said here.

Akshay, who joined the children on the ramp, said: “I remember when I was a kid, I had only three pairs of clothes. But, looking at them dressed in such colourful clothes today was so beautiful. I feel Ritu should launch a men's collection too to have some variety for men.”

Sponsored by Fortis La Femme, the event was dedicated to The Blessed Hearts Foundation, a charity for children.

While the collections from the event were Beri's contribution to the foundation, the actor also donated an undisclosed amount for the cause.
