Bobby Moon to Release New Single with Akon

Posted by: shilpz in , , , , , , , ,

R&B artist on the rise Bobby Moon is trying to break through into the R&B scene, and he's going to have major R&B star Akon backing him up. The Houston, Texas born Desi released his single "She Got Me High" and is ready to blow up big time. The 27 year old singer/songwriter is definitely looking to proceed forward with new music. He wants to go R&B, but he's definitely staying true to his Desi roots by singing in Hindi on the song.

This will be his first single off his forthcoming album under RCE/Kon Live Distribution. Kon Live Distribution is Akon's R&B label, so the man behind 'Lonely' and 'Don't Matter' and countless other hits will be personally working with Bobby Moon throughout the process. That's a big time figure to be helping you try to break into the R&B /pop world. This will be Bobby Moon's second album and his first one since 2004's 'The Rising.' More often than not, Akon has the Midas touch when it comes to breaking new artists. Two of his biggest finds have been T-Pain and Lady Gaga, so let's hope he has similar success with Bobby Moon so we can see R&B become just a little more Desi.

It's definitely cool to see a Desi like Bobby Moon get the star treatment so he can be a force in R&B. The track record is there so keep your fingers crossed. In the meantime we have a clip of the new song "She Got Me High." Listen to it and let us know what you think? Do you think Akon hooked Bobby Moon up or do you think Bobby Moon needs to go back into the lab to make a better single? Let us know whether you love it or hate it.

"A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year," said Eminem. "I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff."

This will be Eminem's first non-greatest hits album since 2004's 'Encore' which sold 5 million copies in the US and 11 million worldwide. The rap superstar has sold over

Eminem Rapping

75 million albums worldwide, more than any other rapper in history. So far, the buzz is huge with his first single 'Crack A Bottle' with 50 Cent and Dr. Dre already going to #1 on the Billboard Charts. Ever since Eminem came back out of hiding late last year with his announcement of the album title and his freestyle called 'I'm Having A Relapse,' the countdown towards the album release has started for many fans.

This definitely proves that while Eminem has been out of the pu

Shady Records is definitely going to be active this year, with now two albums from Eminem (I can't stop saying it, two albums!) a possible D12 album, and of course, 50 Cent's long awaited album 'Before I Self-Destruct.' Before you know it, it's going to start sounding a lot like 2003-2004 all over again.

So what do you guys think of two Eminem albums? Do you think that's more Eminem music than you can handle? Are you hyped up about all the new Eminem music that's coming soon? Let us know what you think and drop us a comment.

AR Rahman and Pussycat Dolls Remix 'Jai Ho'

Posted by: shilpz in , , , , , , , ,

There's just no stopping A.R. Rahman! We got our hands on the remix of the Oscar winning song 'Jai Ho' featuring someone who is all too familiar with Desi Hits!, The Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger.

Desi Hits! CEO Anjula Acharia-Bath was one the first to uncover musical genius A.R. Rahman with Interscope records CEO Jimmy Iovine hard at work on the remix of this song from 'Slumdog Millionaire'. "I really think it’ll be a great dance anthem. It had an amazing beat and great writers; this track is the epitome of what Desi Hits! stands for, the collaboration of sounds from the East and West," said Anjula.

So does the song hold up? Well Nicole Scherzinger adds sexy vocals to the drum beats of A.R. Rahman. The song still contains the elements of the original version, which people loved enough to give an Oscar to. And Nicole Scherzinger stated in a past interview with Desi Hits! that she wanted to go Bollywood, and now she has.

She actually fits the instrumental in a refreshing and surprising way. This cultural anthem which captivates the audience during the film 'Slumdog Millionaire' is remixed to give you something new which will continue to give this film even more crossover appeal than it already has. As if 8 Oscars wasn't enough.

Stylistically, A.R. Rahman's instrumentation actually compliments the Pussycat Dolls style. The mesh of east and west comes together making it more into a love song adding lyrics that tell a story. If you close your eyes you can almost picture Latika and Jamal kissing in the train station.

With all the clarity in production I wonder if A.R. Rahman used the Dr. Dre headphones to mix the song. Wouldn't you guys love to know? Well check out our first article on this remix to find out.

Desi Hits Exclusive On A.R. Rahmans 'Jai Ho' Remix

Other than that we would love to know what you guys think about this song. We here at Desi Hits! are proud to be one of the first media outlets to deliver it. After 2 Oscars A.R. Rahman continues to make his mark in the US. Is Bollywood beginning to take over the U.S.? Drop us a comment and let us know what you think.

The Bizkit's Back: Fred And Wes Kiss And Make Up

Limp Bizkit—the nu-metal poster children who, with the help of a George Michael song and a red baseball cap, captured the rage of a particular subset of baseball-cap-and-baggy-pant-wearing young men in the late '90s—are going to record an album and head out on tour this spring, the first time the original lineup has been together in eight years. Did you know that the band's first three albums have sold more than 20 million copies? I suspect the fourth one will not boost that total by a substantial amount, but I may be wrong, because there are a lot of angry people out there. (Although a lot of that general frustration does come from people having no money to buy frivolous things like Limp Bizkit albums. Hmm. Social experiment!)

Fred Durst nearly gave away the "surprise" on his Twitter last night. How will nu-metal cope with the Web 2.0 age? Perhaps this joint statement from Durst and guitarist Wes Borland can provide a hint:

"We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back."

Oh boy! Expect lots of peevish Twitters about Shinedown and Seether in the coming weeks!

Kingston Rossdale, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s eldest son was at a park in Beverly Hills with his nanny earlier this week. Little Rossdale is sooo adorable. He turned two last May so the big, little toddler is about two years and eight months old and he’s the big brother to his baby brother, Zuma Rossdale.

“It’s like, here is this guy, and he’s not leaving. [Kingston] is getting used to that,” dadGavin Rossdale tells People magazine about his second son Zuma with wife Gwen Stefani. “Obviously, there are moments that he’s [Kingston] bugged out that someone is in his spot with his mom.”

A great park to visit when you’re in L.A. would be the Coldwater Canyon Park where a lot of the celebrity kids play there. Of course it’s in Beverly Hills duh!

Britney Spears' Suggestive Single 'If U Seek Amy' Edited By Radio Stations

Posted by: shilpz in , ,

Britney Spears, after all, so you knew radio stations would find a way around the not-so-hidden profanity in the chorus to the third single from her album Circus, "If U Seek Amy."
Several weeks ago, MTV News talked to a number of radio programmers across the country who said they weren't sure how they'd handle the song — whose chorus spells out "f--- me" — when it arrived as the album's next single. Since then, as label Jive prepares to roll it out, a few stations have begun playing it, albeit in an edited fashion. Though Jive did not return calls for comment, Tommy Chuck, program director for Tampa, Florida's WFLZ, told MTV News that his is among the half-dozen stations he's heard of that have started playing the song. "We wanted to be careful, [because] it's pretty obvious Britney was looking for controversy," he said. But rather than playing the original version, Chuck said his station produced their own edit of the song that replaces the word "seek" with "see," as well as a morning zoo-style edit in which one of their morning hosts, MJ, shouts out his own name every time the word "Amy" comes around.

"I think Jive is creating their own edit, so I don't know if they'll use ours or not," he said. "But it's a no-brainer that we would play it, because the song is a hit and people are calling for it like crazy. It may be the best song on the CD."
Unlike some of the program directors we talked to just after the single was announced, Chuck said he had no problem with Spears trying to stir things up a bit with the tune, but he had to make sure whatever version the station played was clean enough to air. "I think it's probably questionable," he said of the suggestive chorus. "I think it's kind of silly, but especially with all the coverage surrounding it. ... When I first heard it, I thought about it and said, 'Better safe than sorry.' "As far as he's concerned, the edit doesn't fundamentally change anything about the song. "If someone had not heard the original version, they wouldn't know it had been changed." He said WFLZ was one of the first stations to start playing the song, which DJs are referring to as

"If U See Amy" and which is now in light rotation with three to five spins a day.
With "Womanizer" still garnering significant airplay and the title-track second single still moving up the charts, more stations are expected to add "Amy" to their playlists in the coming weeks.
